Driver Insights

Driver Insights

Now you can easily assess the driving habits of your drivers in real-time using the new Driver Insights feature. This new tool allows you to see when a driver speeds, uses their phone, hard-brakes, turns or accelerates too quickly. You are able to view a summary of each driver as they receive a score per trip that factors into their overall score average - letting you know which drivers might have dangerous driving habits and allowing you to address them proactively. Using this data, you may be eligible for a discount on your commercial auto insurance.

You can learn more about this feature on the ScheduleViewer.com website.

Step 1

If enabled, navigate to the Driver Insights page. Here you'll see a list of all the drivers with this feature turned on. You can select the Start and End date for the period in which you'd like to view.

Driver Insights Step 1

Step 2

After clicking on one of the drivers, you'll be taken to high level review of that drivers performance over the selected date range. Besides the driver information, you'll see a Driver Score, Event Rating and Score History. These ratings are an average score of all the drivers trips accumulatively.

Driver Insights Step 2

Step 3

Underneath the drivers score averages you'll notice a list of every trip that driver performed over the selected date range. These trips are organized by run.

Driver Insights Step 3

Step 4

If we click on one of these trips we can see a detailed breakdown. The information looks similar to the average score above but is specific to the trip.

Driver Insights Step 4

Step 5

By hovering over the map, we can select different map views. Below is an example of what the street view looks like.

Driver Insights Step 5

Score Meaning

  • Speeding Occurs when the driver exceeds 7mph over the posted speed limit
  • Hard Acceleration occurs when a driver accelerates more than 7m/s
  • Hard Breaking occurs when a driver brakes more than 5m/s
  • Hard Turns occur when the driver makes a turn at more than 3m/s
  • Phone Use occurs when the driver switches between applications, makes a phone call, or texts while driving.

Violating any of these rules will reduce the drivers score one letter per violation (From A to B, B to C etc…)

If the driver has no violations, he will get an “A” rating for the trip. If the driver violates each ruleset, he will get an “F” for the trip.
